About Us

Since opening for business in 1988, George Erb Physical Therapy has been a leading independent orthopedic rehabilitation center dedicated to optimal, cost-effective outcomes.  We accomplish this with expert care delivered in a state-of-the-art treatment facility, but importantly, we partner with the patient to resolve their particular condition through education, home care interventions, and understanding their occupational goals and/or requirements.  We are honored to have referral support of physicians and surgeons throughout Ventura County, and are proud of the consistent patient-to-patient recommendations that we receive each day.

The Physical Therapy Team

George Erb

PT, BS

George Erb, raised in Camarillo, attended Cal State Northridge on a baseball scholarship before earning his PT degree in 1985. He founded George Erb Physical Therapy in 1988, growing it into a leading orthopedic treatment center. In 2006, he expanded the facility to include a fitness center designed to prevent injuries caused by poorly designed exercise programs. Today, the center has over 1,100 members and employs more than 47 staff members.

George was raised in Camarillo after his family relocated from Los Angeles when he was five years old. He attended Camarillo High School and Oxnard College before a baseball scholarship took him to Cal State Northridge. After his final season as a Matador, he was accepted to PT School at CSUN, graduating in 1985. George opened his physical therapy practice in 1988, and through the years his office has become a leading orthopedic physical therapy treatment center. George and his staff are deeply committed to providing the best care possible for each patient, no matter their condition, in a friendly, family-like atmosphere. George Erb Physical Therapy, Inc. has continued to grow through the years, and in 2006 George expanded his facility, relocating to a state-of-the-art, 22,100 square foot orthopedic rehabilitation and fitness center complex on Camarillo Ranch Road. George developed the Fitness Center for patients, as well as the general consumer, after becoming frustrated with the number of patients he was seeing due to injury from ill-designed exercise programs. Today, George Erb Fitness Center, Inc. has over 1,100 members! This expansion of services and infrastructure gave George the opportunity between the two businesses to hire additional therapists, business office staff, and support staff that now number over 47 people!

As committed as he is to the patients he serves, George has maintained strong ties to the Camarillo community at large. Every Friday night, for 25 years, George could be found on the sidelines, whether home or away, taking care of the Scorpion football team. He officially retired as the team physical therapist in 2010, but came back to the team after two seasons, in 2013, at the request of new Head Coach Jack Willard. Not skipping a beat, George was also joined by physical therapists Matt Stump and Kyle Kimbrell on the field for another run under the Friday Night Lights!

George Erb Physical Therapy, Inc. is a teaching institution for physical therapy interns from numerous schools, including his alma mater. Believing strongly that people should always give back when they can, George founded the Dee Lilly Scholarship at Cal State Northridge, in honor of his anatomy professor who was instrumental in his education. The Dee Lilly Scholarship provides financial support for two PT School students each year, as well as general support for the PT Department. George is also an active supporter of Casa Pacifica in Camarillo, helping to fund the critical work and programs so important to the many children and teenagers living there. He also supports educational programs at CSU Channel Islands, in addition to many local charities and entities that make Camarillo such a special place to live and work.

Aside from running his businesses, George enjoys spending time with his wife and children, which now includes his 2 year-old grandson Wyatt, playing golf, hanging out at the beach, learning guitar, and listening to country music. He and his wife Philomena have three adult children. Their daughter Lauren, a Registered Nurse, is married to Casey, a 3rd-year Orthopedic Surgery Resident. Their son Wyatt will soon have a baby brother or
Sister in January 2018! Their eldest son, Johnathan, is a Physical Therapist with the Los Angeles Dodgers and can be seen in the dugout from time to time around the 7th inning. Johnathan proved his skill and intellect with the Dodgers during a routine physical therapy internship, and was offered a full-time position with the team, one of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball! Their son Michael is married to high school and hometown sweetheart Kaylee, and just completed his PhD in Epigentics from Harvard University in April 2017 after only two years and nine months! Michael published a significant paper on his research findings on Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in the journal Nature in March 2017, and will be published again as a co-author with two other research papers due out soon. He and Kaylee are headed back to California as Michael was selected for the prestigious Fellows Research Program at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla and begins his work there in October 2017. Through the years George and Philomena have relished watching each of their children play ball in high school, and then college, Lauren at the University of Arizona softball, Johnathan at Oxnard College and Azusa Pacific University, and Michael at Villanova University and Claremont McKenna College.

Megan Henriod

PT

Megan was born in Johannesburg and moved to California in 2000. She graduated from Simi Valley High School, participating in tennis, soccer, cross-country, and track. Megan attended Moorpark College, played soccer, and worked as a Physical Therapy aide, which sparked her interest in the field. She transferred to California Lutheran University for exercise science with a pre-PT focus and then attended Arcadia University for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Megan returned to California in 2015 and joined George Erb Physical Therapy, finding an instant fit with the team.

Megan was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she lived until the age of 12. Megan and her family then emigrated to the United States in January 2000 to sunny California with the help of some extended family members. Megan graduated from Simi Valley high school, where she participated in tennis, soccer, cross-country, and track. Not knowing exactly which career interested her, she started taking general classes at Moorpark College and played on the soccer team there for two years. During this time, she started working as a Physical Therapy aid at an outpatient clinic in both West Hills and Simi Valley. She immediately became intrigued by the way that the patient’s responded to treatment and the rewarding nature behind the profession. With new inspiration, Megan transferred from Moorpark to California Lutheran University, where she also played on the soccer team and took on the major of exercise science with emphasis on pre-physical therapy. Being an athlete herself, she was always interested in the sports side of Physical Therapy, and spent some time working as an aid at a sports specific clinic in Westlake before going away to PT school. She decided to move her life over to the east coast, where she attended PT school at Arcadia University near Philadelphia, PA. After a couple very cold winters, she graduated with her doctorate in Physical Therapy in January 2015, at which point she moved back here to California to thaw out and be near her family. In her search for her first job, she came across George Erb’s facility and felt an instant fit with George and his team.
